Today we moved out of YWAM and it was so sad :( We had an awesome breakfast, and yes I get excited over muffins, one last worship with the staff blessing our trip and us, then we headed out. Thirty minutes later we were in the “ghetto” at the First Evangelical Free Church. I walked in being such a germaphobe and seeing the room in the basement. Old, dusty, and dead cockroaches lying around. The walls are so dirty and the carpet is stained everywhere. I refused to sit on the ground at first. Later, we headed to Sunland Park where Shawn (staff member) and Jimmy (independent skating evangelist) hold BBQ’s each week to invite people to talk...mostly homeless people. Everyone had a bunch of fun. But seeing all the people living in the park made me realize that it is worse than where we are staying. It reminded myself to stay positive and be thankful for what I have. I was able to see an immediate answer of prayer when we prayed for an argument to end at the BBQ. Afterwards, we grabbed a quick beverage and saw this many playing guitar. Then we headed to a youth service. Most of the people there I had recognized from the skate park, including the worship band. On the way back home we had almost forgot Meredith and had some awesome ice cream. Today was such an awesome and influential day.
